This is a close-up of the dried floor of “Dead Lake” in Sossusvei Park in Namibia.

This was taken from a hiding hole in Kruger National Park, South Africa. This pond was so overgrown with algae that a turtle could crawl across the top of it.

Koh Tao, Thailand.
Taken atop a cliff on the northern part of the island. With the water so clear and so shallow, the patterns of the sea floor can emerge underneath.

Taken in Muang Noi, Laos. Banana leaves makes for especially good pattern spotting because of their large size and because of the way the light shines through them.

A close-up of a flower along a lake in Uganda. I’m not sure what kind of flower this is — if anyone out there knows place do share.
